Tibet
Tibet, located on the high Tibetan Plateau north of the Himalayas, is an autonomous region of China. Often called the “Roof of the World”, Tibet is famous for its towering mountains, including Mount Everest, which it shares with Nepal. The region is renowned for its unique culture, spiritual heritage, and breathtaking landscapes.
The capital city, Lhasa, is home to some of Tibet’s most iconic landmarks. Potala Palace, perched on a hilltop, was the winter residence of the Dalai Lama and remains a symbol of Tibetan history and culture. Jokhang Temple, considered the spiritual heart of Tibet, houses a revered golden statue of the young Buddha and attracts pilgrims from across the region.
Tibet’s combination of majestic mountains, deep spirituality, and rich traditions makes it a remarkable destination for travelers seeking adventure, culture, and unique experiences in the Himalayas.
