Annapurna Circuit Trek

15 Days 14 Nights

The Annapurna Circuit Trek lies within the majestic mountain ranges of central Nepal and is one of the world’s most celebrated long-distance treks. The total trekking distance ranges from 160 to 230 kilometers (100–145 miles), depending on where road transport is used and the chosen endpoint of the journey. The route crosses two major river valleys and completely encircles the Annapurna Massif, offering constantly changing landscapes.

The highest point of the trek is the Thorong La Pass (5,416m), a dramatic crossing that reaches the edge of the Tibetan Plateau. Most trekkers follow the route anticlockwise, as this allows gradual altitude gain, better acclimatization, and a safer, more comfortable crossing of Thorong La.

Once voted the best long-distance trek in the world, the Annapurna Circuit is renowned for its incredible diversity. It passes through climate zones ranging from subtropical lowlands at 600 meters to alpine and near-Arctic conditions at the high pass. The trek also offers rich cultural experiences, beginning in Hindu villages of the lower hills and transitioning to the strong Tibetan-influenced culture of the Manang Valley and Lower Mustang regions.

In recent years, road construction has altered parts of the traditional trail, particularly the Besisahar–Manang road, which overlaps sections of the trekking route. While this has shortened walking days and changed some villages, it has also opened new opportunities, including the growing popularity of mountain biking, especially in areas such as Mustang. Despite these changes, the Annapurna Circuit remains a classic Himalayan journey with unmatched natural and cultural variety.
