Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek

18 Days 17 Nights

Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek is one of the most exciting and less-explored trekking destinations in eastern Nepal, near the border with Sikkim, India. Home to Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), the third-highest peak in the world, this trek offers a truly breathtaking experience. Opened for trekking only in 1988, the Kanchenjunga trail remains largely untouched, providing a sense of adventure and discovery.

The trek presents diverse landscapes, rich cultures, and spectacular panoramic views of four of the world’s highest peaks, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, and of course, Mt. Kanchenjunga. The route passes through the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area (KCA), covering 2,035 sq. km, which is home to rare wildlife such as snow leopards, Himalayan black bears, musk deer, red pandas, and numerous bird species including pheasants and the Red-billed Blue Magpie.

Along the way, trekkers also experience the unique lifestyles of local communities, including the Sherpa, Rai, and other ethnic groups. With pristine landscapes, rich biodiversity, and unmatched mountain views, the Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek is an unforgettable adventure for nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts alike.
