Visa on Arrival

Most travellers can obtain a Tourist Visa on Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or at authorized land border crossings. For faster processing, it is recommended to complete the online visa application within 15 days before arrival. The form can also be filled out at self-service kiosks at the airport.

Required Documents

To obtain a Nepal tourist visa, travelers must have a valid passport with at least six months validity and one blank page, a recent passport-size photograph, and the visa fee in cash, preferably in US dollars. Card payments may not always be accepted.

Visa Fees and Duration

  • 15 days: USD 30

  • 30 days: USD 50

  • 90 days: USD 125

Visa Extensions

Tourist visas can be extended in Kathmandu or Pokhara. The minimum extension is 15 days for USD 45, with a maximum stay of 150 days per calendar year.

Gratis Visa and Important Notes

Gratis visas are available for children under 10 years (except U.S. citizens), SAARC nationals (except Afghanistan), Chinese nationals, and Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) cardholders. Always ensure your visa is valid and extended on time to avoid fines or legal issues.
